First thing to prevent it, is to always be careful. If it does occur, the state law says it must be cleaned and sanitized with 70% alcohol. Obviously, take care of the customer, help them clean the wound, provide bandages, first aid. After you would fill out some type of incident report, whatever the salon requires. How do you prevent blood contact in a hair salon. What happens if it does happen and what should i do.?
You can't really prevent ';Blood Contact';...However, It's rare that it would actually get on the client, as you(or the hairstylist.) is working behind the client, and the client should have a cape on...However, If she does end up cutting herself, She should stop what she does, clean her finger up, Disinfect the tools she was using, and make sure the client didn't have any blood on him/her...And if the client does, Clean mess, or change the cape...But like I said above, It's a REALLY good chance that a client won't get blood on him/her.
